There are a number of ways that individuals, churches, and other organizations can get involved with the Outdoor Church’s mission and ministry:
Worship at the Outdoor Church
We welcome individuals and groups to join us Sundays at 9am for our worship in front of the Porter Square T Station. Parking is available across the street at the Porter Square shopping center. Because of the intimate nature of our services, if you’re coming in a group of over 10 people we ask that you contact us to schedule your visit in advance.

Every year, individuals and church groups from across New England participate in the Outdoor Church’s street outreach ministry. Our street outreach takes place every Sunday from 2pm to around 5:30pm. Volunteers get to meet their homeless neighbors as they help distribute sandwiches, juice and water, socks, toiletries and other essentials around Harvard and Central Squares in Cambridge.

A majority of the ailments suffered by the homeless are foot-related. Having a clean pair of socks to change into when you get dirty or wet is essential for staying healthy on the street. Responding to this need, the Outdoor Church distributes over 8,000 pairs of socks annually. Help us meet this need by holding a sock drive at your church or place of employment.
Invite One of Our Ministers to Speak at Your Organization
We always welcome the opportunity to talk about the good work that the Outdoor Church does in caring for our unhoused, homeless, and street-involved neighbors. If you’re interested in having one of our ministers speak at your church or other organization, please let us know!
Make Food for the Outdoor Church Community
Food plays a large part in the Outdoor Church’s ministry. After our worship service on Sunday morning, we offer the community a generous bag lunch of sandwiches, juice, water, and snacks. Also, the unhoused and homeless men and women we meet in our street outreach on Sunday afternoons always appreciate fresh baked goods. Your contribution of sandwiches or baked goods would be a wonderful gift to give to your neighbors in need.
